Most of Alpkit's range is synthetic (nylon/polyester). Only the GOTS-organic-cotton tees, 100% merino Kepler base layers, and 100% organic-cotton Ventile Ranger jackets qualify per product — vetted individually.

Faye's take
Alpkit are a UK outdoor brand and most of what they make is synthetic — nylon-polyester mountain shirts, softshells, membrane waterproofs. But hidden inside that range are the pieces that meaningfully close the outerwear gap: the Ranger Ventile jacket is double-layer 100% organic-cotton Ventile® woven in Switzerland from GOTS-certified cotton, with a PFAS-free (C0) DWR — genuine plastic-free weatherproof outerwear, which almost doesn't exist in the market. Their Kepler base layers are 100% merino (RWS-certified, no nylon reinforcement) and their Blank Canvas tees are GOTS organic cotton. Faye admits only those single-fibre SKUs and rejects the synthetic majority.
What they report
Alpkit is B Corp certified with a score of 122.6, achieved in 2024. It met its Science Based Targets initiative carbon reduction goal eight years early, after committing to the framework in 2020, and rehomed 20 tonnes of used gear through its Continuum take-back scheme.
