Terms of Service
Last updated: 22 July 2026. These terms form the contract between you and Ovine when you use the Faye browser extension, the Ovine mobile app, ovinewithfaye.com, or the Ovine+ subscription. Please read them alongside our Privacy Policy.
1. Who we are
"Ovine", "we", "us" and "our" refer to Ovine, a UK-based sole trader trading as Ovine with Faye, contactable at support@ovinewithfaye.com. Our current geographic address for correspondence is available on request by email.
2. What Ovine is
Ovine helps you understand what is really in the products you shop for. Faye is an AI guide that reads ingredient and fibre information from product pages or labels and explains what it means. Ovine is not a medical, legal, or professional advice service. Faye's output is educational and should not replace advice from a qualified professional, particularly regarding health conditions, pregnancy, medication, or allergies.
3. Your account
Some features (Ovine+, saved wardrobe, personal-care shelf) require an account. You are responsible for keeping your sign-in details secure and for activity carried out under your account. You may close your account at any time by emailing us.
4. Ovine+ subscription
- Price and billing period. Ovine+ is offered on a monthly and annual plan. The exact price shown to you at checkout is the price you pay — it is set and localised by Apple's App Store in your currency. As of the date above, the UK prices are approximately £3.99 / month or £29.99 / year. Prices may change; any change is disclosed on the App Store screen before you accept a renewal.
- Auto-renewal. Ovine+ automatically renews at the end of each billing period at the then-current price for that plan, charged to the payment method on file with your Apple ID, until you cancel.
- Cancellation. You can cancel at any time in Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions on your iPhone or iPad, or at appleid.apple.com. Cancelling stops future renewals; your access continues until the end of the paid period you have already paid for.
- Refunds. All payments for Ovine+ are collected by Apple, and refund requests are handled by Apple under the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions. To request a refund, go to reportaproblem.apple.com. We will support any reasonable refund request routed to us via email but the refund itself is processed by Apple.
- Family Sharing. Ovine+ is not currently offered via Family Sharing.
5. Your 14-day cooling-off right (Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, reg. 37)
Ovine+ is a digital service. Under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, a consumer in the UK normally has 14 days from the day the contract is entered into in which to cancel and receive a refund.
You lose that 14-day cancellation right only where all three of the following apply, in line with reg. 37(1):
- you gave your express prior consent to Ovine beginning to supply Ovine+ during the 14-day cancellation period; and
- you acknowledged that you would lose your right to cancel once performance had begun; and
- we provided you with confirmation of that consent and acknowledgement on a durable medium (an email receipt from Apple, and a record kept against your Ovine account).
When you tap "Choose annual" or "Choose monthly" on the Ovine+ purchase screen, we ask you to tick a separate box confirming that you want your access to begin immediately and that you understand this ends your 14-day cancellation right. If you do not tick that box, we cannot unlock Ovine+ during the cancellation period. Once ticked, Apple emails you a receipt (the durable medium) and we record the consent against your Ovine account.
If you did not provide that express consent and acknowledgement, or if you provided them but Ovine+ has not yet been made available to you, you can withdraw from the contract within 14 days of purchase by emailing support@ovinewithfaye.com and we will arrange a full refund via Apple.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use Ovine or Faye for any unlawful purpose, or to breach any third party's rights;
- scrape, copy, or redistribute the Ovine catalogue, Faye's analyses, or verification records at scale or for a competing product;
- submit information you know to be false when contributing product data, verifications, or feedback;
- attempt to bypass Ovine+ paywalls, entitlement checks, or rate limits;
- reverse-engineer, decompile, or interfere with the extension, app, or backend;
- use Ovine to give anyone medical advice or to make claims of medical benefit for any product.
7. Intellectual property
The Ovine name, the "Faye" persona, the Ovine olive-tree mark, our copy, our verification methodology, tier framework, and the catalogue records we produce are owned by Ovine (or licensed to us). Third-party trade marks (brand names, certification logos such as GOTS, OEKO-TEX, COSMOS, Soil Association, etc.) belong to their respective owners and are shown only for identification. Nothing in these terms transfers any rights in our content or those marks to you.
You retain ownership of anything you contribute (a product photo reading, a verification, a piece of feedback). By submitting it, you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free licence to use, store, and display the resulting product data in the Ovine catalogue and Faye analyses.
8. Limitation of liability
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any liability that cannot be limited or excluded under UK law (including your statutory rights as a consumer under the Consumer Rights Act 2015).
Subject to that, Ovine is provided on an "as is" basis. Faye's analyses are informational and can be incomplete or wrong; you should not rely on them as the sole basis for a decision about your health, an allergen, a medication, or a purchase where those factors matter. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, or loss of opportunity, and our total liability to you in connection with Ovine+ in any twelve-month period will not exceed the amount you paid to Apple for Ovine+ in that period.
9. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the product and the law develop. If a change materially affects you (for example a price change on renewal, or a change to your cancellation rights), we will tell you by email or in-app notice before it takes effect, and — where required — give you the chance to cancel without penalty before the change applies to you.
10. Governing law and disputes
These terms and any dispute arising from them are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have non-exclusive jurisdiction. Nothing here removes your right, as a consumer, to bring proceedings in the courts of the part of the UK in which you are resident.
If something has gone wrong, please email us first at support@ovinewithfaye.com — we would rather fix it than argue about it.
