BAM's ethics are strong — B Corp, OEKO-TEX STeP certification on the production side, published mill list, ambitious plastic-free targets. The reason they sit at Tier 2 rather than Tier 1 is material classification: bamboo viscose is a chemically-processed semi-synthetic, not a natural fibre. The closed-loop lyocell version is much better than conventional viscose, but it's not the same as GOTS-certified cotton, wool or hemp. Good brand, honest tier.
How they started
BAM started 20 years ago with the purpose of showing that a successful business could be built while doing the right thing environmentally and ethically. The company says its goals and initiatives have evolved since, but it has remained focused on that purpose.

BAM is a certified B Corp. It runs a free take-back scheme called the Post-Wear Project, and a Pre-Loved resale site where customers can resell worn BAM pieces. Products carry a QR code allowing tracing back to who made them.
