Faye's take
One of the only genuinely plastic-free sportswear ranges I've come across — 100% organic cotton with natural-rubber elastic instead of elastane, cotton thread, water-based inks, UK-woven and knitted. Community Clothing don't publish a per-SKU GOTS licence number on their site, so Faye grades this at brand level rather than crediting a specific certificate. The materials story is genuinely unusual for activewear: no plastic fibres at all, which is almost impossible to find elsewhere.
How they started
On a Sunday night in early 2015, Patrick Grant, a designer and Sewing Bee judge, learned that Cookson & Clegg, a Blackburn clothing manufacturer established in 1860, was going to close. He bought the factory to save it, and this experience led to the founding of Community Clothing.
