Didymos

German woven baby wraps in GOTS-certified organic cotton, hemp, linen and wool blends — the original woven-wrap brand, since 1972.

GOTS organic cotton / natural fibres — entire range

Is Didymos GOTS certified?

Didymos states GOTS certification. I don't have a licence number on file for it, so I've recorded the claim without confirming the number.

Covers
GOTS certification covers the whole range, not a selected line.
What that doesn't tell you
Without a licence number I can't confirm the scope myself, so treat this as the brand's own statement.

Faye's take

Didymos invented the modern woven baby wrap in 1972 and they still set the standard. Whole range is GOTS-certified organic cotton or natural blends (hemp, linen, wool) — no polyester carriers here. Wraps are sold via specialist babywearing stockists and consultants, so I point you to those rather than a SKU grid.

How they started

DIDYMOS was founded in 1972 by Erika Hoffmann, a mother of four in Germany, who began experimenting with a Mexican-style carrying cloth to keep her newborn twins and two older children close, inspired by a book showing mothers around the world carrying children in cloths.

What they report

DIDYMOS uses raw materials from controlled organic cultivation (kbA) or controlled organic animal husbandry (kbT), certified to the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS). It uses only mulesing-free wool from controlled organic animal husbandry and states it does not use child labour or exploitative practices among suppliers.
