Fabrap

UK brand making reusable fabric gift wrap from GOTS-certified organic cotton — a furoshiki-style alternative to wrapping paper.

GOTS Organic Cotton — entire range

Is Fabrap GOTS certified?

Fabrap states GOTS certification. I don't have a licence number on file for it, so I've recorded the claim without confirming the number.

Covers
GOTS certification covers the whole range, not a selected line.
What that doesn't tell you
Without a licence number I can't confirm the scope myself, so treat this as the brand's own statement.

Faye's take

Wrapping paper is largely non-recyclable thanks to foil, glitter and plastic coating. Fabrap make reusable fabric wraps from GOTS-certified organic cotton — the furoshiki idea, properly executed. One wrap replaces dozens of single-use sheets. Sold via gift and zero-waste shops.

How they started

Hema Kumar, an Australian designer living in Vietnam, noticed gifts were often wrapped in wasteful cellophane. Remembering wrapping gifts in fabric as a child in a family surrounded by Indian textiles, she launched FabRap in Germany in 2019 to offer a reusable alternative.
