Welsh outdoor brand that's been doing organic cotton, hemp and merino since 1995 — long before it was fashionable. Built to last decades, not seasons. The hemp tees in particular are some of the toughest natural-fibre garments I've handled.
How they started
Howies is a small active clothing company based in Wales. It started in 1995, making high quality, lower impact clothing for the outdoors, running and cycling, as well as functional everyday products the founders wanted to wear themselves.
Where I read thisWhat they report
T-shirts, jeans and sweats are made from Oeko-Tex certified organic cotton. The company began using recycled polyester in outerwear in 2007, having introduced organic cotton and Merino wool in 2001.
