Komodo

Ethical fashion since 1988 — organic cotton, hemp & natural fibres.

GOTS / Fair Wear — flagged items only

Is Komodo GOTS certified?

Komodo states GOTS certification. I don't have a licence number on file for it, so I've recorded the claim without confirming the number.

Covers
GOTS certification covers the brand's certified range. Everything listed here sits inside it; the brand also sells items that don't.
What that doesn't tell you
Without a licence number I can't confirm the scope myself, so treat this as the brand's own statement.

Faye's take

Komodo have been doing ethical fashion since 1988, which is longer than most. GOTS organic cotton and Fair Wear membership on flagged items — but they also do EcoVero viscose and some blends, so it's not range-wide. Excellent for grown-up cuts; one of the few ethical brands that doesn't only make t-shirts.

How they started

Komodo was created by Mark Bloom, known as Joe Komodo, beginning in summer 1988 after a trip to Bali. A young group of friends who loved travelling found colourful fabrics and traditional Asian techniques, twisting them into new styles for British street fashion.
