Faye's take
Here's the nuance: the cotton and the factory (Rajlakshmi Cotton Mills) are both GOTS-certified, but LGR themselves don't hold a brand-level scope certificate. That technicality is why they sit in tier 2 rather than tier 1 — the materials are excellent, the supply chain is solid, but the audit chain ends at the mill rather than at LGR. Still one of the most genuinely fair-trade kids' brands going.
How they started
Little Green Radicals started out in 2005, when it became one of the first companies to use Fairtrade certified cotton, alongside a small number of other UK brands. The company chose to pay more for its cotton so that farmers, their families and their communities would receive more.

Little Green Radicals has used Fairtrade certified cotton since 2005 and all its cotton is GOTS certified. It runs a Reloop preloved take-back scheme and has saved over 290,000 post-consumer plastic bottles from landfill by making them into recycled outerwear and swimwear.
