Faye's take
Bath toys and teethers are one of the worst hidden plastic categories — most are PVC or TPE filled with mouldy water. Oli & Carol's whole range is single-piece natural Hevea rubber, no seam for water to get into, fully biodegradable. The cleanest option in the category. Sold via baby and toy shops.
How they started
Oli&Carol was started by sisters Olimpia and Carolina from Barcelona, then aged 21 and 16, from an entrepreneurial family. Wanting a project reflecting their values, they discovered natural rubber from Hevea trees and began designing toys, which grew from a small idea into the current business.
Where I read thisWhat they report
Oli&Carol toys are made from natural rubber, Hevea wood and cotton, certified to EN71-1-2-3-12, REACH and ASTM F963 safety standards and free of phthalates and nitrosamines. Packaging is FSC approved and the company states 99% of its packaging is plastic-free.
