Rapanui

Isle of Wight brand making organic cotton tees plus a recycled-polyester circular line.

GOTS Organic Cotton (cotton range) — flagged items only

Is Rapanui GOTS certified?

Rapanui states GOTS certification. I don't have a licence number on file for it, so I've recorded the claim without confirming the number.

Covers
GOTS certification covers the brand's certified range. Everything listed here sits inside it; the brand also sells items that don't.
What that doesn't tell you
Without a licence number I can't confirm the scope myself, so treat this as the brand's own statement.

Faye's take

Famous for their circular take-back scheme, where old tees come back to be remade. The organic cotton range is solid GOTS-certified work — but they also sell recycled-polyester items, which means microplastic shedding even if the carbon story is good. I flag the cotton lines and skip the recycled poly.

How they started

Rapanui was started by founders Mart and Rob in 2008, working from a shed on the Isle of Wight with 200 pounds. They grew up on the island and wanted products made from natural materials that could be remade when worn out, aiming to eliminate waste.
