Faye's take
Sports Organics say the honest thing on their own product pages: their fabric is GOTS-certified and OEKO-TEX Standard 100, but their company-level GOTS certification is still in progress, so the finished garments don't yet carry a GOTS licence number. That's why they sit at Tier 2, not Tier 1 — I only credit the GOTS logo on a product when the brand itself has a visible licence number, and they don't yet. The materials story is genuinely good: organic cotton with 9% conventional elastane on the cotton-stretch pieces (they say they're developing a corn-starch bio-elastane blend), and 100% merino on the wool range with no elastane at all. If you want a plastic-free option from their range, go merino.
How they started
Sports Organics was created by Georgie and Frank, who spent years searching for sportswear that reduces plastic and synthetic materials worn during exercise. They worked with fabric developers for more than two years to engineer organic stretch fabric for their products.
