Faye's take
An actual zero-waste bra — Tencel, organic cotton, natural rubber, even the thread and labels are plant-based. Cut it up at end of life and it composts. There's nothing else like this on the market; most 'sustainable' lingerie still has elastane or polyester somewhere.
How they started
The founder learned how much the apparel industry's use of synthetic textiles was overlooked and decided to prove it could be done differently. In May 2018 she launched The Very Good Bra on Kickstarter, where over 700 people bought one within 30 days.
Where I read thisWhat they report
The bra contains no spandex, elastane, nylon or polyester, and can be composted at end of life. In 2019 the company partnered with Worm Tech worm farm to test this, and the bra composted within 8 weeks. B Corp certified in 2022.
